    Flushing!

I finally bought a pH meter and tested my pH, it was pretty darn low. I went to Lowes and picked up some Espoma Organic Garden Lime and Espoma Organic Triple Phosphate. I added the Phosphate to help with flowering. I worked the recommended ammounts of the Lime and Phosphate into the top 2 inches of the soil. After adding the Lime and Phosphate, I placed the pots on my TOILET SEAT (flushed, literally, ) and ran 6 gallons of pH balanced water through each plant. I couldn't do it anywhere else because only one of my room mates (a best friend) knows I grow my room mates dont know I am growing. Then I mixed up a gallon of water with very light nutes, few drops of superthrive, and teaspoon epsom salts.. and ran a 1/2 gallon through each of the two plants.

I did this yesterday afternoon and at first they drooped because of all the water. But, after 1/2 a day on the light cycle and over night, they've really perked up and look the best I've ever seen them. I recommend flushing to anyone if they are having soil problems.

Also, the smaller one on the left has been through hell and back. It's been over-nuted as a seedling (deformed lower leaves), dried out when I went on vacation for a week, root bound in a small pot for a long time, transplanted and damaging some root (they were working themselves into the porous pot).

After transplanting it took off in height. It also matured faster by having alternating nodes sooner on the secondaries than the big plant. It's also flowering faster than the larger, less stressed plant. Both plants were from the same batch of seeds in bagseed. Both turned out to be female!

    Nature continues to amaze me.

EDIT: Also, would you say these plants are more sativa or indica?

I continue to be amazed at how much abuse a plant can take if you use a little TLC to bring it back to life.

The other day I broke the top of a plant clean off. I taped it back in place and it is doing great.

Thats funny cuz i was SURE I killed 2 of my plants with overferting, but then i flushed them, and they look as healthy, if not healthier than they were before the overferting!! I mean they looked DEAD! Leaves all curled up, badly drooping, the whole shabang!

I didn't take any pictures of this, but to be more precise, I broke the top off of 3, when I was putting my vegged plants under a screen in my flower area. I didn't take any pictures because of course I thought they would die (the tops, not the plants). I'm not sure why I tried. I think I remember reading way back that this could be done if you do it right away. All 3 lived, including 1 that I was sure was not going to make it. I Know I didn't get the break aligned back into place properly, and it still made it. Just not as soon as the others. It looked like it needed water real bad for about 4 days, and then thrived.

This makes me wonder what would happen if you broke the tops off of 2 different plants and switched them. How about 2 different strains? I think this is essentially grafting, which I know is often done.

And breaking seems to work great, but would cutting be better?

    I only flush toilets ....

and when the plants appear to be sick I will run straight 6.5 PH water .... zero ppm through the reservoir for 12-48 hours... this ALWAYS fixes MY problems

    and NOW you KNOWM

These bitches are taking off! I havent moved the plants and now the tops of the plants are about 1/2" THROUGH the wire shelf above! Time to remove some of the crap below and lower them. I hope I don't run out of closet space... I dont wanna relocate shit from my shelf and remove another!

I have two bags of damprid in the closet to mask the smell and keep the humidity low.
