I grew up on Mr. Rogers, too, although he wasn't on PBS till I was well into elementary school. He's the best. So calm and gentle and sweet in the way he talked to kids. My son loved him, too. I'm sorry he's no longer living.

I figure anyone who knew Mr. Rogers and knew his background just probably was able to dismiss that "sniper" story and not even dignify it with a response. He was such a peace-loving type that, if he or his family ever heard that rumor, they probably would have just laughed it off.
