    humidifier in my jar

my jar air tight jar made by 420 jars (http://www.420jars.com/) usually holds about a half ounce. i like to be able to stash it and let it sit in airtight container. i heard back when, that humidifiers were worth purchasing for keeping your bud nice and fresh. ive also heard of using lemon/orange peel.

as far as i get it the humidifiers put some humidity in the air and the peels suck it up? and i read in cervantes GROW BIBLE page 103 "do not place it in the freezer. freezing draws moisture to the surface of buds, which can harm resin glands on the surface." okay that sounds like having a humidifier in my jar is bad. someone help haha.

    thanks

i forgot to ask this too, i heard smoking out of a water pipe you lose thc becuase of water filtration and if that was true that means im not getting the most of my bud with my glass hvy. but i thought thc wasnt water soluable. i thought it was only oil, alcohol and fat soluable. if thats true wouldnt it be untrue then? if someone could clear this up itd be appreciated too. thanks.

bold: im not going to comment on that cuz i dont know
but yeah, the humudifier's work real well, but you should use a slightly dried oarnge, lemon, or lime and use that instead of a peel. make sure you dont keep it too humidified or you could get mold. *oogle around for the right temp and level.
as for the water, the length and time for the smoke to travel usually affects the amount you get from ground zero (your bowl, hey welcome, im from sactown too! :smokin:

Do those jars keep bud fresher than say a regular jar without any additions? Are they worth it Wade? They look cool. I just keep my bud in a lame jar with two ends of a Q-tip taped to the bottom of the lid and I use an eye dropper to put water on the tips of the Q-tips every time they dry up. Keeps my bud really fresh and moist, it's nice. Wouldn't mind upgrading to one of the 420 jars though.

i think they are way worth it. ive dropped it, like slipped it out of my hand on to the ground (carpet) and it was fine so its got a little strenght to it but i dont know if it would survive a hard floor fall. and yeah the seal is the best part. i used to have a glass jar with a cork and it was nice. but becuase i dont need a large mason jar and i dont like tupperware and i enjoy the little style to the jars i thought why not. using the humidifier and the jar together is doing great for my bud. i recommend that any day.

You can get like 10 small mason jars for $8.00 at the grocery stores...why buy a 'weed jar'? (outside of the styling).

If you have a gun store near you, ask them if they have Desicant. Some stores only have these humungous packs of it but others carry smaller packs that are about the size of those instant hand warmers you see in the winter. Take one of those and add it to your jar...sucks up the moisture. I keep a large one in my ammo box to keep my ammo dry and fresh and said, "Why not?". Went out and found some of the smaller packs and I keep those whereever I keep my stash to keep things fresh. Plus, the desicant packs are reusable...you just throw them in the oven to 'recharge'.
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.

Actually, that would probably be better and cheaper!! You might even be able to look around and find some laying around in old shoeboxes...although I'd question how 'fresh' it is. The ones they sell at gun stores (at least the ones I buy) turn pink when it's time to recharge. So you pretty much always know where you stand.

Oh, and I wouldn't try to recharge the desicant packages that come with shoes b/c those are enclosed in paper. It'll burn right off in the oven.
