the charger is 6.25V 350mA, and the fan is 7V 0.21A... would that work if i spliced the wires together?

    Computer fans...

I have a computer fan that I have connected to an old phone charger but Im not sure what the volts are on them. It has been running solid for around 4 months without any problems. I would say just twist the cords together and then put electric tape around the wires and then plug it in to see what happens. You might want to do a monitored test run just incase though. Hope this helps.

yeah thats what i did... running fine so far... is it bad to wrap the wires in duct tape? the fan is pretty loud tho. I need to find another DC converter for the bigger 12 V one.

Why didn't you buy a 120 volt computer fan then you wouldnt have to mess around with it? I did.

I wouldn't suggest wrapping it in duct tape since they make electric tape for a reason. As for the noise, just go to the local hardware store and pick up some foam tape and put it around the base of the fan and then install it. It cuts the noise down by a lot.

I just use an old pc power supply, The black and Yellow wires, are your 12v rails. The only wire i have to cut, is between the fan and molex connector. I just plug it in, and it works great.. I have 8 pc fans running off it, and Maint is a breeze.

I went to radioshack and got a 12v 1amp adapter, runs 6 3.5" fans fine, wiring was a nightmare, but hey.
