Moronic GA Congressman on Colbert Report
Here we have Congressman Lynn Westmoreland from Georgia - sponsor of legislation requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in the House and the Senate. Turns out when Colbert agrees and asks him to list all ten, Westmoreland gets as far as three (and reaching deep for those, I might add).

Rather than dignifying the disgusting attempts of the "lunatic fringe"* to exploit emotions, we need to be exposing them for the national jokes they are.

I would think that allowing 12 year old girls and 14 year old boys to marry legally in Colorado to be more of the lunatic fringe than someone that wants the 10 commandments displayed but can't verbally recite them all on command.

He seemed to be totally unfamiliar with the Ten Commandments. Most knowledge Atheists could have done far better than that - even though they don't agree with many of the commandments. I'd guess that many people active in Atheism even know them all by heart.
Just another example of why religion and government should be separate.
Moses Didn't Write The Constitution
As Thomas Jefferson wrote in a June 5, 1824 letter to Major John Cartwright, "Our Revolution commenced on more favorable ground [than the foundation of the Ten Commandments]. It presented us an album on which we were free to write what we pleased. We had no occasion to search into musty records, to hunt up royal parchments, or to investigate the laws and institutions of a semi-barbarous ancestry. We appealed to those of nature, and found them engraved on our hearts."

And i like your Thomas Jefferson quote....you know Jefferson was a total moron aye? He even has his own version of the Bible which he went thru and deleted every passage he didnt believe in.

not everyone is a christian. the courts have no buisness forcing their dogma into the justice system.
It's a symbol that "this court is controlled by christian ideals"
For you chrisitans, imagine being forced into a court that has Islamic commandments posted on the front door. How would that make you feel? Opressed? Exactly.

I can list them all easily.. and I only went to church when I was younger. Most Republicans just like putting insignificant, stupid issues up there to get people to vote for them, mainly the Christian population. Like gay marriage, ten commandments, etc.. I'm a Christian and I can easily name them all, and I do think they're important. But here you see a man fighting for displaying them in a public place and making a big deal about it, and he can't even say them correctly. He says "Don't murder, don't lie, don't steal" He should have at least said "thou shall not" And at least been able to come up with a few more. I'd say he needs to focus on the "don't lie" one a little more. And "thou shall not worship false idols", cause most of them are satan worshippers.
