That sounds like very expensive stuff. I'm not sure if what you have will produce CO² or not. It may be bromine or something close to that. I'm just guessing but thought I would chime in on the CO² in the res point.
There are some CO² tablets that are sold. The idea is as they dissolved in the water CO² is released. As the res fills up the room fills with CO² and the plants adsorb it through the leafs. It's a fine gas and can easy make it's way through the grow rocks and out the net pots.
