I actually added more holes after purchasing the pots as I wanted a little more air for the bottom of the soil. I am using a compost/manure/potting soil mixture. I also have a nifty cover for the top of the soil (see other postings) that really have eliminated most of the evaporation. I also have a layer of Peat Moss under my nifty cover to even further reduce evaporation.

Well it's not evaporation you should worry about. The leafs can even absorb the water as it evaporates to some point. But the peat moss is a good idea because it will stop alga from growing on the top of your soil. So for that reason it's a very good idea.

You may want to add some bone meal or some worm casting or bat shit from time to time. If you are early in veg you can add some fish shit to raise the N level or bat shit. It sounds like you are growing organic and that's fine. It's slow but that is good too sometime. Just don't make the plant work to hard for nutrients.

Right now I am in late veg, with about 8 days to go. Kinda playing it by sight with the bag seed, more of a trial run to get the set up working properly. I think the organic is a little slow too, next time with real seeds I will add in a little Fox Farm products. Or if there are a couple organic receipes that someone could contribute. I would like to make my own.

I added bone meal to the soil mix when I was preparing the soil. Mixed all components together and added some water and worms and then let set in a window sill for about a month and a half never letting it fully dry out, and stiring lightly about once a week. The worms are still in the pots and only 1 tryed an escape. I have read that if the soil mix is no good then the worms try to get out of it, can you confirm that?

Cool...i will get some fert for my girls. well...I just found out that 2 of my 5 are males...the others haven't shown yet. It still kind of hurt when i cut those males down.
