Yea this 12/12 cycle is just an optimum. We are trying to improve on nature remember. It makes sense to me that in nature you may have a dark period of over 12 hrs every so often. There may be major clouds for a day or so and the outdoor plants deal with it. But if the sun was out for 24 hours straight the plant may have a problem dealing with it. Wouldnt you. So I agree with Zandor It just make sense not to put a plant in a enviroment that it would never possibly experience in nature.

So in flowering
12+ light period = Bad
12+ dark period = OK
but not multiple times will stress.

mad5387 Reviewed by mad5387 on . Will switching my lighting hurt my plants? In order to keep my plants cool I was planning on switching my plants to get the light at night, so heres my question. My plants are on from 9am till 9pm(12/12), and I want to switch them to 9pm to 9am so they get light during the cooler time, will it affect the plants if I have the light off till the time I want to start the new light cycle? it is 12:10 pm right now. They've had 3 hrs of light so far today. I am only 7 days into flowering. I just hope they are female since this crop is from Rating: 5
