i kno this has been asked many times...
yeah they are tied down- i did this when i knew they were girls and they are tied around the main stem so it bends over. the main colas r still closer to the light (tallest part of plant) than the secondries. basically it means u will get a bushier plant and probably more grass for ur space than if u grow them straight up. probably.
