Do Steroids give you acne?

I've considered taking steroids illegaly (since my doctor won't prescribe it) to see if it would help me gain a bunch of muscle in my neck and back, thus hopefully improving my condition, which is rather painfull. But all I can find on the web is people shouting about it causing gynocomastia and acne and such, but no indication as to how long I could get away with it before seeing those things. anybody know?

Could damage you in a year or could take many, many years worth of cycles before it starts doing harm to your organs. It would be nice if I could tell you the exact date and time of day when your liver develops lumps all over itself, but that's just not something I can do, or something anyone can really do. I'd say, from what i know, the average is about 3 years before you really start to take a chance with organ damage, and other adverse health effects.

I really only know about what it does to organs after prolonged use. Other disorders like breast development and acne I have only learned about at passing glance. Those are really the least of your worries if you want to use steroids, imo, anyway.

For a side note: Other perscription anabolics can be just as harmfull with prolonged use as those used illeagally, as well. Just because it comes from the Pharmacy doesn't mean its a little miracle drug that can never hurt you in any way.

ive used and steroids for over 20 years. side effects, yes and no.....i have to take medication to controll blood pressure and i got thinning hair. as for as your nuts shrinking up to the size of rasins, guess ive been lucky so far it aint happened to me yet. but i dont over load the juice, just do three short cycles a year to be able to keep up with the young boys at work

I am a bodybuilder and I have been using roids for about 2 of my 4 years of gym-time.

Let me tell you what I know steroids can do, from personal and friends' experiences:

1. Acne on face, back and legs.
2. Testicular shrinkage.
3. Little or no production of sperm (mostly when using testosterone)
4. Extreme increase in libido (often associated with Deca-Durabolin, aka Deca Dick)
5. Facial and body hair growth (testosterone again)
6. Head hair loss (test again, mostly)
7. Gynaecomastia (most roids, when taken in high dosages, WILL give you this - bitch tits are a bitch).
8. Stretch Marks
9. Roid-rage
10. Loss of sexual appetite.
11. Permanent testicular damage / sterility / impotence.
12. Users of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) often become deformed after a relatively short period of use (1 year, maybe)
13. Thinning of the skin.
14. Weight gain, fat gain, water retention.
15. Scirosis of the liver / other serious liver and kidney problems.
16. Cancer after long-term use (5 -10 years, maybe).

After all this, roids has also done this for me and my gym buddies:

1. Increased strength. - 100% increase in 6 months.
2. Increased muscle mass - Arms have increased between 2 - 10 inches in 6 months.
3. Increased fitness / cardiovascularity.
4. More sex from hotter chicks.

If you weigh up the pros and the cons - I think you'll see that roids aint that bad if you know how to use them. I believe that you should be at least 21 years old, with at least 3 years gym experience to try steroids - and you should research every last inch of every last chemical before putting it in your body.

And a foot-note to all those opposed to steroids, heres a few things I'd like to point out:

1. Steroids make you work HARDER in the gym. This is for many reasons, the most important are that you've blown hundreds on the shit so you might as well make it count; you can suddenly lift more weight for longer, so you strain your muscles more. Seeing results quickly is a strong motivator to keep working hard.

2. Steroids are not 'miracle drugs' or 'instant muscles'. They are simply synthetic equivalents of natural chemicals in the body, designed as a boost. Are you telling me that you could do without testosterone because its a steroid?

3. Steroids are illegal because many choose to abuse them. Please do not assume that all steroid users are abusers. That would be like saying everyone who smokes pot is a degenerate of society - a junkie. Its not fair. I would have hoped that the cannabis culture would at least have an open mind about the subject, but clearly they do not. I don't judge people by what they smoke, eat, drink, pop, fuck, lick and take - so please don't judge using the same narrow-mindedness that affects us all.

The only concern I have with illegal steroid use is that the money goes to the nefarious shady side of society, the guys who smuggle, use guns to protect their investments, blah blah. If you could grow your own steroids, and people did so, I'd have zero problem with that, as it is then a victimless crime (unless you 'roid rage on someone and hurt them). Of course, if you cough your liver up one day because of it, I don't really want my tax dollars paying for your healthcare either (Medicare, etc).

i took steroids for a bee sting and it was for shit... i had to piss all the time and my joints hurt and i couldnt rlly run or jump or anything it wasnt fun... i also got angrey alot... lol they also tasted terrible (they were pills) and the taste just wouldnt go away

We're assuming he means anabolic steroids, the kind of articicial androgens taken illicitly in immense doses to build muscle.

The steroids people take for asthma and other types of medical inflammation are corticosteroids. They come in much smaller doses and don't generally cause the same problems as the anabolic ones. (They can cause some other problems, however.) People should worry a lot more about the anabolic kind.

For all those who STILL don't know, there is more than one type of steroid. Cholesterol is a steroid. Some steroids are anabolic (my favourite), some are catabolic. Some are anti-inflammatory, etc. etc. etc.

I am assuming of course that this thread IS about anabolic steroids, the kind that gets used to get big?
