I got a 360 for my son on his birthday. It's everything we thought it would be :P

Seriously though if you buy one, dont plan on just spending enough to get it running with a few games. That $400 console will EASILY turn into a $1000 investment. You need to buy a seperate hard drive for it in order to run your backwards compatible X-Box games. You need to get it online as well, as there's nothing more fun that going online with those things. Once you do get it online though you can set one of your pc's up with some free software, and you can stream ANY of your mp3's, mp4's from your pc's hard drive to the xbox 360 and listen to your own music instead of whatever gay stuff is playing in the background on your game. It's truly awesome.

And by the way, nothing is ever a waste of money if it brings you fun and pleasure. Unless of course, you cant pay your rent or buy food because of it :P
