I've modded for a few forums and was the admin at two of them. A guy earlier said the best way to be a mod is stand out without drawing attention to yourself. Personally, I'd trust the people who stand out amongst thier peers as respectaed members of the community over people who advertise themselves with sensitive infromation like an IP address.
