In my experience with Forums (And I've had quite a bit of it, being a mod and admin on serveral) you seem to be more generally accepted for 'moddom' when you don't ask Maybe it works differently here, I dunno...One thing you might want to display though, and this is just what I've always looked for in mods, is affinity with the forum's technology, able to help people with their technical problems ect. knowledgable about the subject of the forum of which they moderate. Doesn't participate in flaming/hazing of any kind on the forums, and helps to keep the peace. and as always, is a helpful contributor to the forums.

These are just suggestions...It's those members who've always stood out to me as an Admin.

Oh, and on the note of ISPs and IPs, having your IP is no big deal, with a bit of know-how anyone can find anyone else's IP address...Don't panic about people knowing your IP...It's not like knowing your social-security number, believe me.
