Howdy Jay,

I would tell them " I smoke marijuana as a safe alternative to deadly,dangerous,addicting,prescription drugs,because I'm 100% disabled,with chronic and severe pain and muscle spasms."

I recently had the opportunity to do so,to 6 narcotics task force fellers,one postal inspector and an un-named and un-identified fed,who was sitting on my couch next to me,asking me that very question..lol. It was standing-room only in my little old trailer and i had their complete attention..lol. I was so insistent,that the lead investigator actually put that in his report..that I "smoke marijuana,to relieve my back pain".

What was my 'crime' ? I was guilty of recieving very small gifts of compassion,in the mail..from other medical marijuana patients. Need-less to say..I now turn down such gifts.

You see,with medical marijuana,I can eliminate the dangerous prescription drugs,but society insists that I take em and suffer from their ill side-effects and such.

So..if someone ever asks me that question,they'll git one heck of an answer,from me !:thumbsup:

Man do I feel bad after reading this.. There are people that have to smoke to stop their intense pain and stuff.. And then there is me.. I just smoke to have fun..

Because it makes me see the world in a different way. Music is more crisp, food is sensational, and I can let my mind wander when I sit down to write. If there's a weed drought (like there is in town right now) I get a little disappointed, but I'm not giving head in the alley for it.

I do it cause its a social thing, in China people bring apples as a gift to peoples houses, me, I bring a fat sack and get stoned to shit with my buddies.

Not only are you having fun, but you are also learning for yourself about the benefits and risks. Someday you may have a medical condition and society/doctors/government will be telling you that MJ is evil, illegal and can't help. At that point, you'll know the truth and will be able to make an informed decision.

I smoke weed to ease stress and encourage relaxation. I smoke weed to calm my extremely high-strung nature and lighten up. I smoke weed to raise my low blood pressure and lower my high blood sugar. I smoke weed to effectively manage my bipolar disorder and chemical depression (however I do also take a mild antidepressant as well.) I love the way it feels, looks, tastes and smells. It is the surefire antidote to a crappy day and can raise my bad mood faster than anything else. It allows me to be a more patient, creative person and more interactive and loving to those around me.

well because it was beter than alcohol i used to be a heavy drinker till i was introuduced to weed and i rarely drink now.

I'm with you 100% on the relief of pain Torog. It's a lifesaver to hundreds of thousands of us who couldn't function due to chronic pain. I can get all the Vicodin, Percocet, etc, from my doctor that I could possibly stand to take, and I get very, very little relief from my pain. But just a few tokes and I get instant, although temporary, relief. Since my doctors say I'll never live without pain, temporary relief keeps me off of disability, and keeps me from having to sponge off of the taxes of others to support me. I don't even really think about the high at this stage of life, just relief from pain, and release from stress caused by pain.
