12/12 from start?
In equatorial regions, the longest days are only 13 hours long. Some strains with origins from those regions, do extremely well, grown in photoperiods that range from 13/11-11/13...
I think you would be better off with a longer photoperiod, at least for 3-4 weeks...once the plant is 8-12" high, then flower.
Personally, I veg my plants 15/9 or 14/10...I do not veg them 18 or 24 hours, I root them at 24/0, but as soon as they are placed; they go under 15/9 or 14/10...
In my belief, (I got this idea fron Henk, owner of Dutch Passion Seeds) this helps to produce female plants...If you want males and want to produce seeds, then you need the longer photoperiod 18-24 hours of light.
Now, I know you want to say something...

p.s. Del posted a real cool thread on this last year...I will try and find it. But, what really sold me on shorter veg photoperiods were the words of 'Henk'

The reason you found out the sex and it works so greatwas because it was a sativa.Indicas and afgahns are not at all the same. They don't stretch near as bad or get as tall.therfore when you set lights as to sex them, your strain grew abit so as to better tell the sex.Smaller seedling have a tendency to knot up at the node and it's hard to tell the sex.For the novice, anyway.I know what time it is.
