    Are you harvesting too soon?

I'm in a state of confusion. I've read till my eyes turned black about when the correct time for harvesting is. My understanding is you wait until about 70% of the trichomes turn amber. With this kind of crop yield that's nearing it's end I don't want to take them down too soon. If my understanding of when to harvest is correct, then I'm confused. It seems that in the last 18 months of growing I've seen most all of the people that show closeups of their buds have clear looking trichomes. With a microscope I see the trichomes in this pic. have a small amount of trichomes that are nearing amber, but 95% are still clear to lime colored. I sometimes wonder if people get trichomes mixed up with the hairs that turn color...

I'd like your input if you would be so kind as to help out an old lady in distress

maybe some strains just grow that way and are meant to be harvested when the trichomes are clear

I thought it was when the trichs are cloudy, not amber

    You got the right idea.
    Don't listen to the breeders.
    Don't listen to other growers.
Harvest when you see the amber trichs.
The reason you see people with clear trichs is because they are impatient.
I've found that most every strain took longer then I was told.

    Thanks so much guys

mobay, you have no idea how much help those photos are to me! I harvested my second grow without waiting long enough as I can now see. I've sampled them one week apart after 8 weeks flowering and the buzz is showing great promise. I'll sit on these ladies all summer if I have to. They are at week 10 and I have a feeling they may take it to week 14 to 16... At least now I can relax and vap some of the last grow...

Does this apply to all strains and phenotypes? Arnt some strains couch lock as opposed to a nice head high? This chart shows that any strain can be a coughlock, head high, or a mix if you harvest at a certain time, is this correct?

I LIKE THE HEAD HIGH, NOT THE COUCH LOCK. I HARVEST WHEN THE TRICHS ARE ALL CLOUDY, AND JUST A FEW START TURNING DARKER.
