Use the PrtSn key on your keyboard.. just up and to the right of backspace.
Paste it into paint and save as jpg
or use this application http://www.screenshot-utility.com/
Very easy to use and saves the file ready for you to your desktop.

i have a friend that has like 1 icon his desktop and that's it, and it's recycle bin, everything else you have to go to start menu to access lol..
