Secrets to stealth growing?
I've put a lot of work into my cab so far and I have a few questions about making it undetectable:
-What is the most silent type/brand of fan for ventilation? My cab is very small so I don't need too much airflow.
-best way to filter the smell?
-any good ideas for hiding spots?
Any other tips you would have as to how I can grow stealthily would be good.SativaSoldier Reviewed by SativaSoldier on . Secrets to stealth growing? I bought one of these: http://www.coolerguys.com/ac120vfans.html , and love it ... its very heavy-duty, quiet, 81cfm, and is 115-volt, ya don't have to fool with the power supplies, etc ...

The fan and cooling system depends on the size of your stealth grow box, and the type of light that you are using. Computer fans (80mm), one intake, one exhaust will suffice if you are using a smaller box. But, one of the main factors when choosing fans is the type of light that is in use. Many HPS and HID lights require an actual cooling system, because the heat that they put off will burn the plants if the air is not cooled. You want your interior temperature to be about 3-5 degrees above the ambient temperature, at the max. Hope this helps...

I've done PC grow boxes with LEDs and even dual 120mm Delta screamer fans did not provide enough airflow. Why? Because axial fans are not that good at moving air, you want squirrel-cage blowers or inline-centrifugal fans.
Dynex as a brand is horrible. I've blown out headphones, microphones, and many other components made by Dynex. They are cheap and fail too often, I would avoid those at all costs.
