Bong Water Q

my friend who i smoke with everyday hasnt cleaned his bong water in like monthes. Its black and chunky and reaks but he says it gets you higher since the thc is left in the water. I tried to explain to him that THC isnt very soluble in water so all the dirty bong water does is reak and make the hits taste worse. He told me i was wrong and im wondering if maybe I am since hes been smoking since he was 10 and ive only been toking for a few years.

Dirty water in NO WAY gets you higher, just destroys the good taste of the fresh weed your smokin'. To each his own I guess........

Yeah, Psycho4Bud is right. Bong water doesn't contain any THC (i think its because its not very water-soluble or something), and in fact contains a lot of impurities that just make smoking a lot less pleasurable. Tell your friend to replace the water.. better yet, tell him to drink it and see if he gets any higher, and let him disappoint himself.

heh, my friend is exactly the same. He never cleans his bong water and when I pour it out for him, the fuckin water is pure brown/black. DISGUSTING!!

I told him, 'Dude, you're supposed to pour out the dirty water and use new water! It's common sense!!'
and he said 'You do?' with a really confused look on his face like he really didn't know.

There is THC in bongwater, but not very much. If you dry out the bongwater, it's pretty much the same sh*t you'll get from scraping a pipe. And it's true that THC is not soluble in water, but that has nothing to do with the topic. As others have mentioned, there's no connection between what's in the water and what's in the smoke. And the water won't affect the smoke, no matter how clean or dirty it is. For example, some people think that using wine as bongwater will get you drunk or super-high - that's also a myth. If your friend doesn't realize this, he may be smoking a bit too much

Please pour that sh*t out and sterilize that bong. Make it your job to educate your foolish friend. I had to do the same thing with a friend of mine - he would not change the water for months and it was horrible. But I would clean his bong every time I went over and he eventually realized how much better it was. I like to clean my glass bong every 3 sessions and put it in the dishwasher every month or so and it makes every bowl taste better. I think dirty water actually makes the high worse because you're only thinking about the disease-infested cesspool of filth you're putting lips on.
