i have a question....

what exactly does a hookah..also known as a hooka, or sheesha, exactly do?

does it get you high? or does it buzz you? or is it just like a cig and cure a craving for smoking....


its legal so im curious...

Depends what you are smoking out of it. If you are smoking massal(sweet tobacco mixed with fruit and honey) the smoke is very flavorful and smooth. The tobacco gives you that nicotine high, like the mellow chill feeling. Straight bud of course gets you stoned. Mixing bud and massal gives you a very mellow, but plesant high. The smoke is very smooth because it is baked with a hot coal sitting over it and not burned directly with a flame.

a hooka is just like a fancy looking bong that you can set on a table or the floor and has a hose coming out so you can smoke from a distance(like on a couch or bean bag chair) and sometimes the have multiple hoses so everyone can just sit around gettin baked all at once

A hookah isn't a bong at all. Hookahs have been around for around 500 years. The tobacco is not lit with a flame but rather baked. The bowl is much larger and is covered with a piece of perforated foil or metal. A hot coal is placed on top. This way, the heat is only pulled over the tobacco when someone draws in from one of the hoses. Unlike a bong where a flame is used and the smoke can still be harsh. A hookah gives you smooth smoke. You will not even feel it in your lungs at all. Also unlike a bong which is designed to condense the smoke and shoot it up the tube into your lungs quickly when you shotgun it. A hookah lets you draw the smoke in smooth and slowly. There are bongs with hoses, and maybe some people call them hookahs. But they are not. About the only thing they have in common is the use of water to cool the smoke.
