Another medium that you can use that won't hold over amounts of water but you can treat as hydro is Coir.

here is an article on it. you can mix it with what you are already using but it if literally impossible to get water logged if you have holes on the bottom and a bit of run off space.

it makes perfect sense... vermiculite offers no drainage and I would personaly never ever use it.... Never! lol that is why the plant in vermiculite is drooping ... the roots are not getting adequate 02...

perlite on the othe hand is porous and offers roots plenty of oxygen..

transplant into a 80% soil 20 % perlite mixture... into 1-5 gallon containers... put a piece of newspaper down on the bottom of the container... then fill the bottom 1/2 inch of the containers with perlite for aeration... then add your soil/perlite mixture...

I have done some experimenting and for me clay pellets (hydroton) works best. Holds water, but not too much.

I use composted cow manure and Pro Mix. Outdoors for hardend-off cuttings, and 25-75 for indoor seedling or cuttings.10/60/10 bloom for a spray solution in a spray bottle for cuttings during propagation.1/4 strength.100 % success rate.Great all round mix if'n ya don't wanna use a lot of nutes. The first 2 weeks.

well i transplanted my big plant into a bigger, much bigger pot today. proly 10"tall, 8 wide
think that will take it threw the whole thing>?

the roots looked good. they were kinda green, from the algea or sumthin.
i whent ahead and flushed the soil so it didnt get salt built up.
i am at like 24 days now.
how long do yall think till it will be safe to flower?

That's what I'm talkin' bout! You done the right thing!Glad to hear that you gave them roots some room. The only way algae will grow is if it has light.Light proof container will not let it happen. The roots will be snow white. On the when to flower thing...You should be at least,in my opinion! No less than 12 inches.Bigger the plant.Greater the yeild. If ya got the room? Then 18 inches. My preference! This jack I got has just stopped stretching .Shew!!!!!!! I was sweating it.I waited till they were 18 inches too.So....... Start Jack Herer at 12 inches.Keep up the grow!
