Hi Gang,
Reminiscing about the old days in Amsterdam in the mid 70's, early 80's. Was wondering if anyone knew or remembers a gentleman by the name of Bill Kemplaar? Ran a great place in Amsterdam called Happy Hours. The first time I stayed there with a friend of mine, woke Bill up at 11:30, he shoved us in his big wooden bed, and welcomed us to his happy home...grumpy old coot, but with a heart of gold. We were planning to stay for two days, ended up staying a week. HH had a wonderful policy of 7.50 guilders (sp?) per night which got you a bunk downstairs, coffee and a roll in the morning, and if you were there, tea and a joint in the afternoon. Bill drove Gary and I around in his souped up car around and we had a magnificent time. HH used to be the place where all the expat Brits, American, Swedes, Germans, etc kids from all over Europe used to stop and have a good time in there travels. Word of mouth. Anyone remember or can tell me where and what happened to Bill?
Thanks
Snow
