Rome Italy good for a smoke?

Hi all going to Rome Italy for a week.My questions is do they have a coffee shop scene.What attitude have the cops got etc?Any body any links ideas?
For some reason my wife let me book our holidays in amesterdam lol.

Italy have the same laws for all drugs weather its crack or cannabis. Be very very careful dude

humm might just stick to the booze for the week.It's not worth ruining a holiday over.Can't wait to go loads to see food etc.Any body recomend a good bar?

If the laws in Rome are anything like Naples, then don't bother.

If you're caught, the police break your arms first, then ask questions. It has happened to people carrying less than a gram.

You can smoke in Rome with no problems. Marijuana laws are more laid back there than most of the US. A good source of information regarding marijuana laws and tolerance around the world is WeBeHigh. On the Rome page, it reads:

Legislation: Marijuana is illegal, but is tolerated for personal useage. A new law may be passed allowing up to 5 grams of any drug for personal usage

Law enforcement: Cops are very relaxed in Italy. They will aproach you if you are smoking in their face, but as long as you're in a crowded piazza, or in your home, they don't care at all. They are too busy flirting with girls and smoking cigarettes.
