That's cool, braddog. Unfortunately, I can only view the first 19 years of my life as a movie. I was disconnected from the emotions. It hurts knowing that they are gone and will be missed. I'm sure that there are others who show no emotion over it, either of the stories, no matter how close they were to them, personally.

How can any complex organism just wither away? How were thoughts created through evolution?

I know......I know,.... The fact that you can know see and feel means that God is not far from you......Tragically, many that can't ~ Jesus refered to as dead, yet tho they live.

A good friend of mine, who was a high-school basketball star, blew his head off. He was born twenty years after, your friend, Vic, but died, nearly, ten years short of his age.

He was close to me. There is a city basketball tournament named after him.

If we are created in God's image, then He, too, has cannabinoid receptors and is puffin' away in Heaven. Lucky Son of An Angel.

By the looks of things, we haven't maintained an image, so what is to come?

This reminds me of this article:
    Cannabinoids and Animal Physiology
    http://www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/marimed/ch2.html

And an entry from http://www.thc-ministry.net/cannabisinfo.htm :
Unlike equilibrium thermodynamics (classical) which cannot account for life other than by a miracle, this new branch can be viewed as mandating it. Evolution of complex systems, inclusive of creativity, are intrinsic to my interpretation of nonequibirium thermodynamics as being the prime manifestation of the will of God. From this perspective I would interpret man being made "in the image of God" as meaning that we must embrace God's fundamental characteristic of creativity, which includes cooperatively and evolution. This principle is most elegantly displayed in the evolution of the human brain and the political and social systems that have co-developed with it. Scientifically, it has been demonstrated that the number of THC (active ingredient in marihuana) receptors increases as one looks higher up the evolutionary ladder, and furthermore, these receptors are found in highest numbers in those portions of the brain associated with human intelligence. Therefore I conclude, both logically and religiously from personal revelation, that the stimulation of these receptors is involved in thought processes that are representative of the will of God, i.e. the creative process.
