    Lowering the Ph

Hey so I tested the potting soil today and the Ph is around 7, anyone have any suggestion to bring it back down to 5.5-6? I know for large scale farms they use elemental sulfur, but I wasn't sure if that was the proper way. And would that be causing the plant to look lighter in color and start to yellow in some places? Thanks.

you want your ph to be 6.5-7 for soil.5.5-6 is for hydro.if you lower your ph to 5.5-6 in soil you will kill your plants.your second question could be alot of things a pic would help.

your soil is fine. 7.0 is the standard most quality soil uses and i'd be very happy with that 7.0 if i were you. it'll come down a bit as you add the ferts and rain water is also usually on the acidic side so don't worry about it. if you're using tap water it's much more important to test it and adjust as needed but there again don't worry about a half a point here or there. more harm can be done trying to fix something that isn't broke in the 1st place than would happen if just left alone most the time.

No, lime is a soil sweetener to be used if your pH is too LOW.
