Your right, in the long run you can save if only you knew first. I got some with my little hydro 6 plant units. It does just fine for vegging, not to strong. The plants seem to love it. Once past seedlings you can bring up the PPM's. The bloom did OK but I didn't know any better and was just starting to understand some of the add ons to bloom. I ended up mixing them both for veg till I used dynagro up.

Do you have your metters for PH and ( EC or TDS ) or combo that does both ? They are most important.
Inside and outside are 2 different worlds. Mine did OK but the dynagro soon ran out. A good thing.
Most use GH (General Hydroponics ) 3 part. Grow, Micro and Bloom.
This is what I just used on the papaya.
GH 3 part mix for veg, calmag+, B-52.
For flowering, Lucas formula GH, micro and bloom to the PPM's I wanted. started with 800 and went to 1200. With calmag+, B-52, Bud Blood ( for first week of flower ) and then Big Bud for the rest of the grow. There are many others. I tried not to go overboard but they were highly recomended. Later when they run out I may try some others that are supposed to be very good. I'm kind of run dry too. Remember to use RO or distilled water only. Then add back just what you need, like the calmag and b-52.
What size light are you using and what kind of ventilation ? Good I hope ?
The only thing left for me is co2 and I just don't have the bucks right now.
Once you get some return you won't feel so sucked dry. It pays off in the long run. I don't have a green thumb like some but if I can do it so can anyone almost. My brother sucks ass at hydro, HA HA HA HA. LOL. But that's another story.
Try General Hydroponics 3 part or AN they are the same. If you have more questions keep them coming, we all help here and if I tell you something stupid the big guy's will let you know quick and straighten me out. That's OK I learn too. I will have more pic's tonight on the PAPAYA thread. I made my pixels too high and it takes along time to download. Show us some pic's in and outside. We like pic's it tells the whole story.
