Damn, I can't believe I missed this discussion. I read Draft in the title of the thread and didn't give it a thought because it won't happen. I wish it would because I would love to fight for my country.

You *do* understand that you can join without a draft, right? If you want to fight for your country, you don't need to be drafted, you can just sign up.

I like the dialouge and tone here... one point, Facts seem pretty irrelevent when it comes to debating politics or religion. They don't typically jump up and slap me in the face and change or motivate me without me running them through my values filter... I suspect I'm not the only one this applies to.

Probably the best recent example of why facts are irrelevent... Look at the president of the sovereign nation of Iran, whos declares the Holocost never occured.

But the fact is it did happen..Irans idiot in charge opinion is that is didn't happen..fact is..that it did..you can't change his perception on things but the majority of the world know that the holocaust is a fact.

Correct..the US is the evil empire. They just make it sound good! You don't really expect the US to just bomb and leave do you?? Oh no my friend. They will push for regime change and make Iran into a "democratic" republic against the will of the people, hence that is why they will have a draft and send us young people to go die for.....well really for their amusement!! These are the people that supposedly lead us.
