but yeah.. i agree with what a lot of people here are saying.. in today's world.. surviving without money is almost implossible.

    very true

Sorry to butt in, but a pet subject of mine here lol

There is a great quote I discovered one day:
"Cannabis will get you through times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no cannabis"

Money sucks - ya cant live without it.
It has been programmed into us that we can't live without it.
Our lives have become a set routine of goals that are laid out from the beginning:
Why do I have to go to school?
So that you can educate yourself into a well-paid job.

    Why do I need a well-paid job?
So that you can afford to buy stuff, and attract the opposite sex.

Why do I need to attract the opposite sex?
So that you can get married, buy a house, and pay more taxes.

Then you must have children, inbreed within them the same possessive importance of life, and continue to contribute to the machine.

It is so ingrained within us all, that none of us can escape it.
Think about it - would you really be happy living on a dessert island away from everything and everyone that you know?
It would be cool for a while - but soon you'd miss the internet, the snack-shop, the TV, the PS2 ( ) etc etc etc

Rather than opt out of society, why not try to change the psyche?

I was once severly repremanded by Channel4 (a UK TV station) for suggesting on their website that everyone should spend a year getting stoned when they turn 18. Did they think that I was being irresponsible?
My point was, that everyone that I know who tokes, is of the same opinion as is being expressed here...

Why not get everyone into the same frame of mind, and then we can go about sorting this mess of a civilisation out!

Maybe I'm being too simplistic, but it's got to be worth a try

    I love this planet.
Earth is a fluke of nature that, as far as we know, is unique.
People look to the sky for heaven - but Heaven (in its purest definition) is right here!

Anyways, I'm climbing down from the soap-box now, and going to have a smoke - need to chill, inti

Res I couldnta put it better myself... No, seriously, I couldn't, i'm high as fuck BUT, I agree totally.. sometimes 'opting out of society' seems like the sane thing to do, but I know i'll never do it, because it's not so simple

So I gues what you said is the only way to go. even if you try and change one person at a time, try and help them see all this shit, then youve done your part.. but it'll take a long long time

Res, i'm assuming you've read The Celestine Prophecy?

    No no no no no!!!

We don't get VAT here, but Cost OF Living is alot more expensive.. even stuff we grow over here is more expensive here than it is elsewhere.. so I don't think we're saving that much

Plus, and this is the worst part of all, weed is £160 per ounce! For Soapbar!! Most people can only get soapbar, and it costs £20 per 1/8, and real bud is basically non-existant.. I'm just lucky I have a few god hook ups, or friends with hook-ups, because i'd be forced to pay £160 per oz of soapbar, which is fucking pathetic.. that's the reason i'm growing my own for the first time.. I ordered some B52 seeds yesterday

No, I haven't read The Celestine Prophecy - I nearly did once, but I forgot to pick up the book.. stoner, see lol

Thing is, I am a lorry driver, and being a lorry driver who works nights, gives one alot of time to think about stuff.
I look at the world as if I must be an alien or summat. I see people rushing about, taking uneccessary risks, putting their lives (and others) in jeopardy - and for what?
    Money.

    I hate money.
I hate what it does to people.
I hate having to got to work to earn it, then give 95% of it to people I don't even know (ie, the tax-man ).
But I do like listening to top tunes, playing WRC3, driving my car, smoking dope... all these things require money.
So, I have to accept that I must be part of the system, in order to escape it - if that makes sense (?)

I live for my own time, and if I need to dip into the real-world to sustain my pleasures, then so be it - otherwise, the world can go .... away

    (adjusts the soap-box)

Life is hard enough, init, why can't we all just share stuff, accept one another, and make our time here as painless as possible?
Learn to cherish this planet, and the awesome experiences that it has to offer.
When people ask me why I smoke pot, I tell them that it helps me to see more.

And as for living in Jersey, can you imagine the amount of import tax that you'd have to pay on an ounce of weed

    lol
