recently I was informed from a nor cal gardner that running 10 - 150watt(also knowm as 42 watt) CFLs cost about 40 dollars a month...

Depends on the kwH, I learnt this from graph and image reaper lol, so let's say they charge 6¢, so at the end of the month it'd be an estimate of 4.32, for that lamp alone I think, it sounds a bit low so I might be wrong but still if you consider the other bills you'll still be paying more than just for the elec bill lol.
