What kind of threads/posts are allowed??

I am sorry to hear about del.. and I am not sure exactly why he quit. I am sure it was not over deleting the thread that I made yesterday about my 93 year old friend dying. It was probably a build up of things.

He said that it was the most buzzkill-est thread he had ever seen. It contained no profanity, no racism, no flaming. Just stated the facts and I wanted to share my experience with everyone and it was deleted. I understand that the mods can delete threads as they wish and I respect that. But this thread is harmless and could of/ would of helped me release my feelings and share.

If I cant post a thread like this....

What kind of threads/posts are allowed?

BTW, I am 37 and I have been smoking weed for over 25 years. So, I am guessing that would qualify me to post on a marijuana board. Does it always have to be about marijuana? I can only stand so much of "dude, I am soooo high" "check out my new pipe" "what is your favorite munchie". Just trying to add more of real life content seen through the eyes of a lifetime stoner. Peace.

Perhaps the lounge is not the best place for a story like that... as it is the general area and most people viewing it are either inebriated or getting there. I do agree, that reading that kind of story, as interesting as it may be.. does present itself as a bit of a buzzkill..
I'm not sure why exactly it was deleted, nor can i tell you. I can tell you that del's leaving will not have as large an impact as people would think..Life.. and posting.. will go on at cannabis.com

To answer your question though, the types of boards taht are generally not allowed are covered in the forum guidelines posted by sundance. Aside from those "guidelines" the only other boards we really frown upon are destructive and boards that will only cause trouble in the end. Things like popularity boards, or boards "rating" specific members into a category...If a board has a poll consisting of members as the options...it usually doesn't end well.

But, if you would like the thread back, it can be done.. but it won't stay in the lounge.

I appreciate it. If you don't mind I would like it undeleted that way I can finish what I started and take it down to his last breath as a remembrance of his awesome life he has lead and talk about my personal feeling to all of this. Where will it go?

I'm sorry if this person is close to you, i can understand and do give my best of luck to you and his family...losing a friend, a father and/or a husband, can be
    very hard.

you will find your board in the Medicinal & Health section.

You have every right to post your thread here. As said as it was and I am only assuming that I never read it. I still believe in FREE SPEECH good or bad speech. How can we appreciate the good times if we do not listen to the bad times in life? (generally speaking). Even in the lounge you have the right to post there. The lounge section is about as general as it gets here. I would not have deleted it or moved it my self but as there are no real rules for mods to follow we learn right along side everyone else and we just try to do our best.

Moderators here are volunteers and are members like everyone else here. We are just members with responsibility and WE ALL do the best we can but even we have good days and bad ones.

I assume Bob has found your thread and restored it for you if not contact me and I will find it for you.

We may not have permissions to restore a thread I have never tried but Bob or I can ask the administrator to restore it.

You moderators did a good thing there. The framers of the first amendment would have been proud. I certainly am.

Thank you, Geounagual, for your posts. I agree with Zandor's nod to the sadness making the joy greater, the good balancing the bad. I may be facing a slightly similar situation with a beloved sister before too long. Somehow it was nice to see a fellow caring spirit talking about the process with openness. In some ways, perhaps it's OK for some things to be a buzzkill. At least it's OK to pause in reverence.
