stretching?
This is my first grow but i have been reading these forums for about three months now. this plant is about a week old from seed and is it just me or is it stretching? im running just one cfl on it 24/7 cept at night i turn off the light for an hour to let it cool down (not sure if i need to do that but i do anyways)

You need to get the CFL directly on the seedling, only 1-2 inches away. That will suffice till it has a couple nodes, then either add more high wattage cfls, use flourescent tubes, or give it high intensity discharge lighting.

oh and one more question where could i pick up either a hps or hid light? i looked at home depot and didnt find either only cfl's

What ever you get make sure its quick mate cos that plant looks like its ready to fall and die any minute.
Get the CFL within 1 inch of the top. I would say put a fan on it too, but its so stretched it might just fall over and die.

one other thing i would try ,is repotting it and get that stem burried a bit more which in time will turn to root support

transplant it and get it deeper, it'll do fine, just be careful
