Root Question
You can and should move to bigger pot.
Line the pot bottom with 2-3 inches of small lava rock. This will help your roots from becoming rootbound as they spend time and energy encapsulating the entire rock bottom. They will draw minerals from the rock and still allow your plant to produce nice tomatos.
This will also help you keep container size to bare minimums. You can grow huge plants in 8 quart containers.
