$600 & LIMITED CLOSET SPACE

I would like to know what to do with a $600 limit and only using closet space?? At first, I was going to purchase a Phototron (www.phototron.com), but I read some reviews that stated it should only be used for Mother clones, and not BEGINNERS (Which I am a BEGINNER). I'm just not sure anymore on what to invest in?! I don't have any experience on building a grow-box, but I'm sure that it isn't too hard to make, RIGHT?? Could someone please give me tips on how to use $600 WISELY!?

DO NOT BUY A PHOTOTRON.. I have one and it's only good for holding the mothers and clones..

How do you do with that to mantain total darkness to do your plants flower?

And you must take into account that ventilation is needed.

You can build a similar setup in a closet cabinet very much cheaper.

I'm glad that you told me, because I had all of my plans and sights set upon "the Infamous" Phototron!! It looks like it had everything that I would need to start and automatically grow a plant from a bean. Thanks for saving me!

Where can I find the information and pictures that I need to build a similar setup like the Phototron?? I don't want to have a factory in my closet, but only start with one bean at a time. I want to put all of my focus and effort into one plant so that it could be the best plant possible. I have heard of stories about one plant producing up to 3 ounces, and thats what I want to do. So I don't need nothing too fancy, but good enough to grow excellent, high yielding plants. I'm pretty sure thats it is in this forum, but please show me direction.

All you need is a cabinet (about 16x16" is enough, but 20x20 is good) with enough height (at least 5ft). Take a bunch of 4ft T8 triphosphor tubes (better in color 827, 2700K) and put them vertically around the plant. Put them reflectors. And a fan extracting and one moving the air into the cab. Thats all.

With 600 bucks you can turn that soooooo much more in return. Go to Insidesun.com and get a HPS light for dirt cheap, check out the inline fans, and some of the other accessories. you can buy a decent sized entertainment center cabinet for less than 80 bucks. so far you would have spent about 350 bucks. the rest should go toward either your hydroponic system(you can easily do it with all store bought equipment) or a load of foxfarm soil. then spend the rest on some quality seeds. I reccomend something like Dr. atomic's NL Blueberry.
also, concentrating on just one plant and one plant only can lead to some major regrets, like a male, or a mistake can lead to a dead plant...
If I was working with 600 bucs I would have a super perpetual garden in my house, I've got 2 extra closets and an extra room. 1000 watt hps's are only 250 bucks at inside sun. enough of my jibberjabber.. take it easy.

I'm about to go on the website in just a minute, soon as I get off the forum. I can't get an entertainment center cabinet, because I need something that fits inside of my closet. But now I know where to get all of my supplies from, so thanks alot for the info!

I'll probably be growing from soil (I want to do it ORGANICALLY!!). I heard that hydroponic systems use up alot of electricity, so thats why I'm going to stay away from that method. Is there such thing as using too many watts??? Don't want to attract unwanted attention from "You Know Who"! I already order my seeds (Blue Moon Rocks and Mazar) from Seed Boutique (Still waiting 3 weeks later!). I understand about concentrating on one plant, because I would hate it if one of those situations would happen to me. Say for instance: What if I grow two plants at the same time, and worst case scenario, the male got my lady pregnant?! How long does it usually take from seed to sex?? Thanks for the info, and I'll let you know as soon as my seeds get to me!
