1000 watt HPS? It depends on how big the pots are, how big the reflector is, and all that lol. BUt if you have one instead of asking why dont you just go and try it for your self and find out how many you can? But try 5.

You can grow 10 or more, and flower them, altohugh like orangeman said, it depends on reflectors.

Go see how big the space is the light covers... Then you know.

some people grow one big plant (3-6 feet) under a 1000 watt hps...

others grow many many little plants .... 10-100, 15 inch tall plants...

it all depends on what you are trying to achieve...

some things to consider
1. laws reagrding number of plants
2. vertical room available
3. desired turn around time
4. ability/skill needed to nuture large number of plants...


if you are going to grow many plants it is important to realize the advantages of age and strain consistency.

many many growers do not get maximum yield ....do to variance in size/age between the plants in their garden...

for many this is a calculated choice... so they say...lol , cause they want variety...

Actually not 10 or more. Unless your talking about sea of green.
8 regular size plants can fit under a 1000 watt light.
But Garden Knowm covered it all.
