HERMIE SPERM
I disagree with you Lip. Itâ??s all about X's and Y's. Although there are chemical treatments that will encourage femininity. Most of the seeds initially treated won't even germinate.
I've never gotten a male from hermie seeds before. Not to say that it doesn't happen though. I've only ever gotten females that occasionally pop a male flower here and there. Usually itâ??s only one or two where the preflowers show. And I've only ever grown from hermie bag seed.
I have read that feminized seeds also turn hermie.
FYI there is a FAQ in relation to creating feminized seeds.
But like any information, take it with a grain of salt until you try it yourself.
And Lip.. not having a go at you or anything because you are very helpful to many and I like you. But just be mindful of posting your beliefs as fact until you have rigorously tested your theories.

Not correct at all.

You need to control the environment to control hermies. A small light leak is not enough. You may want to pick up some dutchmaster reverse that will stop a hermie in it's tracks. Once you see signs of hermies then give it a dose and it stops.

like I aid Zandor about not being a plant biologist.this is NEW info I've come across.its about crossing strains with hermies and truebreeding hermies,or inbreeding hermies;if there can be such a thing.and like elcheapo said about hermie seeds producing females with very few males,I've only had one hermie seed experience.truebred, not crossbred.and I've still got those seeds after several years and they've consistently produced feminized truebreeding females 100%,no hermies.so all's I'm saying is I think its got to do with the twist of fate as to where the hermied pollen falls as to what you end up with.happy growin','Buz

I'd grow a few to see.
Thats the only way to find out.
Everyone is wrong exept Zandor pretty much.
If you read the post I did up there. You will have your answers.
All I've been doing is learning how to breed lately. And one of the main things I've been studying is S1's. Because I'm going to make S1's of all my clone only Cali. Med strains. So I can keep them forever.
