I'm an environmentalist, too. And I care deeply about our current disastrous political situation and the fact that a group of really stupid, callous men have lied in order to get us into a war we have no business being in. I'm also a whole lot smarter and more educated than the average Joe. I think the combination of these facts obligates me--and you, too--to rise above the level of common vulgarity and to strive to be as well-mannered as possible and set the standards of communication a little higher.

There are lots of really foul-mouthed, angry, profane folks who converse on these boards, and there are also lots of youngsters and eager-to-learn folks who read these exchanges. It's up to those of us with higher abilities--folks like you, me, the mods, and several others--to set the bar a little higher and raise the level of discourse when and where we can so that this will be a place where civilized, intelligent discussion becomes the norm rather than the exception.

I must say though I did post 4 or 5 threads yesterday and have to say this one has more responses than the others combined .... I think I was just in the NeoCon mindset of attack attack attack... It seems to be their only way of getting their word out there and I was just caught up in the moment.

I do try to keep the 'debates' educated and containing facts... which is another reason my posts are lengthy... and will try to go back to that... this one just got to me good...

I am glad that people got a laugh out of it though and hopefully there was more joy taken from my rant than offense...
