Yes, it is... can you post a close-up pic of the bulb... with it turned OFF... so we can read what it says?

If it's a HPS (high pressure sodium), it will work. It isn't ideal, but it'll work.

Plants prefer MH (metal halide) for vegetative growth, and HPS for flowering. But, there are people that grow the entire plant (seedling-->veg-->flower) with a HPS.

Lower the bulb, as much as possible. Watch out for heat... don't burn your plant. Use "the hand test" to see how much you can lower your bulb.
