YELLOW F"ING LEAF'S!!! please help my ladies.
the leaf's are just getting worse and worse..
it seems like every day , every couple of hours the leaf's lose a shade of green and gain 2 shades of yellow..
i dont know what to do.. i did as much reading today at work that i could, ( they block some sites ), and from all that reading that i did, i think i came to the conclusion that it was the fish emulsion that i gave them..dont think that they needed it yet...
does anyone think that this can cause this.? ( the fish emulsion was 5-1-1 )
they're are a couple of other factors that can be causing this though as well..
***my temp does get pretty hot in there, but i really dont think that is it, i was reading a thread today, and it said that heat will just make your plants droopy...
***also my soil came w/ some perlite mixed in it already, but i did not mix it in.. maybe the roots are not getting enough oxygen? ( you can see in the pics the perlite that is already mixed in.. )
i was going to transplant into larger pots, but i really want to make sure that's the issue before i transplant.
dont have the space for bigger pots right now, but can make it if neccesarry, and didnt want to stress them anymore than they may already be..
i tested all 12 of my plants ph levels, and none were higher than 7.1 and none were lower than 6.5
**************** THIS IS SOMETHING I READ IN THE GROW BIBLE TODAY THAT MAKES ME THINK IT WAS THE FISH EMULSION :
Got a problem that you need to identify? If common sense
does not solve it then it sounds like you have a feeding problem and
want to know how to sort it out. Well this is what this chapter is all
about.
PLANT NUTRIENT / CHEMICAL PROBLEMS
AND HOWTO SOLVE THEM.
Before we begin we should tell you what a chemical burn is.
A chemical burn is what the plant suffers because of over-feeding. A
chemical burn can be compared to a half-smoked joint. At the tip of
the joint you have this shriveled gray ash, in the middle you have the
burn creeping towards new paper which leaves a pattern behind it, and
then you have the part you have not smoked yet. A plant burn looks
like this almost. The plant sucks up the water and the food. It
distributes these elements to the leaves at the bottom first and then
works its way up the plant. This process takes days to work as you
know FROM WATERING and WHEN TO WATER! The damage
starts at the tips of the leaf and slowly moves to the center of the leaf,
leaving behind it some crispy matter that flakes away between your
fingers. This is what a chemical burn looks like. A nutrient problem
does not look burnt. A nutrient problem looks like a cell collapse with
discoloration. The part may wither and die, but it should not look
burnt. That is major difference between a chemical burn and a nutrient
problem. In time you should be able to tell the difference for yourself.
Also check your pH. If your pH is not right, then solve the pH
problem before you go and do anything else.sjacobs713 Reviewed by sjacobs713 on . i don't see them to be all that bad bro, i mean are you added nutes to them if so what kind? do you have them in MG soil? hope not, next maybe it needs a little bit of nitrogen just a little bit with water, i kmnwo when my plants were getting bigger they then started to get a little more yellow leaf and such that nitrogen didn't fix i then found that a little Epsom salt is what was needed, see what others say don't just take what i say to heart, actually don't ever take one persons advice

what up growingreen?
gave them some Alaska Fish Emulsion crap i bought at WalMart.. thought it be good b/c it had a higher nitrogen amount than anything else..
what is MG? if it is miracle grow, then no i stayed far far away from it.. heard a bunch of negative things....
but hey thanks for your input.. i was reading about that epson salt as well.. may give that a try pretty soon..
hey do you or anyone else know anything about Co2 tablets for fish aquariums, and if they are good to use w/ grow, or should i stay away from those as well?

Another thing I'd like to mention, is get those plants in some pearlite if/when you can. 30% is what I'd recommend, that soil looks like it's going to eventually get really packed and caked together making her roots difficult to grow.
When a potting soil mix says there's pearlite added, there's more often than naught, hardly enough for our oxygen loving mary jane roots.

the thing is about the soil, look at how little they are and how big of a pot that it..
if i transplant into a larger pot w/ soil and perlit mixed in, she will still be in the soil that she is in now, just surrounded w/ new soil..
do i need to dig around her and pull her out...
the link that you sent me Grim for transplanting, says that i transplant everything that is in the pot she is in now, but just into a bigger pot.. that wont get perlite to the roots right now, which is what she needs , right?
believe me i believe you that that could be the issue, i just want to make sure i got my game plan correct before i do the transplant..
