my friend just told me that he heard that in columbia people use tea to water cannabis and it makes them more potent, is this true ? I've never heard about it before.

It would be my bet that a good A+B fertaliser would be a better option than a cup of tea.

Was your friend refering to a "compost tea"?
Compost tea is widely used throughout all of the horticulture industry. It is very good for your plants.
