Newbie Need Some Pointers
Hello everyone been on the boards researching and getting info but now I need some info thats requires previous experience. Anyways heres my setup:
42in(w) x 60in(h) x 20in(d)
150 watt HPS
(2) T5 2' fluoro
homemade DWC with top drip in 10 gallon container with (2) 5 in pots.
this will be my first grow, I have just some basic coverall nute. I am planning to go back to the shop and pick up some better stuff for nutes. Anyways with my setup I was wondering what I could really expect. I was told to use the T5 bulbs to supplement the bottom of my plant(s) when they got bigger. Could i do 2 smaller plants or just try to go for one bigger plant? is SCrog a good idea for a newb like me? anyways just wanted some words of wisdom, pointers, discouragement, encouragement, whatever the community has to offer.

Your setup is quite similar to mine.
I currently have three Waterfarms (top-drip systems with 3-gallon resivoirs) and a 400W HPS light in a similarly sized cabinet.
At this point, I almost wish I would've SCROG'd.... I'm going to get plenty out of the three plants, but scrogging would've doubled my yield.
Even though you're new to this, I'd go SCROG in your cabinet with your lights because it's the best way to make the most of your setup. Budsites will get maximum exposure that way.
Just make sure your screens are attached to your buckets for when you have to change your water.
SCROG'in isn't hard at all, and it give greeat results in small spaces with lower than average light.
Good luck!

You havent enough light to flower. In the space you have, you will need at least a 250w HPS, with a parabolic reflector (because the rectangular shape). In you can cool the space adecuately, a 400w HPS make sense.
T5 arnt the best to support low areas, because they run hotter than T8 and can burn your plants.
Other option avalaible is using floro tubes and scrog. You can use T8 30W (35 1/2") or T5 HO 39W or T5HE 21w (both of 33 1/2 "). You will need at least 8 tubes.
If you want to use the equipment you have, and you dont need too much yield, the best you can do is divide your cab in 2 areas, one to veg with mums, and one to flower. If you are going to use a 150w HPS, notice it havent much penetration, so use it doing scrog or put it hanged vertically bettwen 4 plants (no larger ones) in a space of 20x20".
