BACK ON THE BLOCK!!!
Yea.. Where theres a will there's a way.. 3rd attempt..
My children did pretty good til I tried to force flower, however because my LED system never came, my plants couldn't handle it n failed.. I DEFINITELY had a war of words with the LED man.. Oh well, but I decided to stick to the conventional method that got me started in the first place, CFL, and money is no longer an issue..
I still have my liquid nutes n my superthrive n all the goods.. I got a couple 100w CFLs coming in.. 800w 5000K total (talk about a couple? lol) and a couple 250w HPS (500w or 1000w total, ballast is homemade).. All will be used during flower.. This question though, goes out to the more experienced. Given the grows go well and according to plan, how many plants with a sufficient yield can be grown with this much "artillery"??
Also, in time I'll be purchasing my LEDs as suplimentary, on the side.. Once the grows go well, i'll take a few to the side and keep them specifically on LED control, so we can see finally how this stuff really works.
But for real, how many plants with a sufficient yield can be grown with 800w CFL and 500w HPS (or wat about 1000w HPS)?? I really welcome the feedback and I hope my question is answered.. Don't sleep on this one!!sheist Reviewed by sheist on . BACK ON THE BLOCK!!! Yea.. Where theres a will there's a way.. 3rd attempt.. Your 800 CFL is fine for veg...maybe as many as 25 young plants.
However, the 500W HPS will only effectively flower about 4 mature plants. Your CFL will be pretty much useless during flower, but they will help with some side lighting and undergrowth foilage retention.
You can squeeze another plant or two IF you have extremely effective reflection going on.
If you went with the Hortilux bulbs for your 500W HID, you could get as many as 6-7 perhaps.
I was a doubter, but those hortilux lamps are the greatest, indeed.

sheist... if you grow 4 plants like hardon suggested you will need to grow them relativly big... (flowering at 20-24 inches) and you would probably want to to them off or give them some severe bending/traing....
if you are not concerned about the number of plants.... you shoud consider 16 plants and organize them into a square foot print, no bigger than 4x4 feet.... flower them at 10 - 12 inches and keep the light (1000 watt hps) as CLOSE as possible... 12 inches or less...
using this method you can achieve 2ounces a plant...
if you grow 4 plants... big.... with a 1000 watt hps, you would be very fortunate to get 6 ounces per plant.. unless you added great side lighting..
good luck
