so it comes down to this:
are you the mortal body or are you a spirit wearing this mortal meatsuit for but a little while?

spirit could be a thinking/feeling entity who can exist without a mortal meatsuit, kind of like how you exist in your dreams...you're just a thinker/feeler in your dreams...while your meatsuit sleeps in bed...
