    proper strain for social phobia

I would suggest you get some medication from a doctor or a shrink.

You could try to self-medicate with weed, but as any medical professional, alcoholic or drug addict will tell you, it doesn't work very well...if it works at all.
    Good luck!

Oh, wait. You mean, after the N.F.L. season? Or the C.F.L.?
Some Dolphins spokesperson said that after this NFL season (since he's banned this year for failing a drug test) that they expect him back in a Dolphins uni next season. So in the meantime he'll be playing in the CFL this season to get his form back, then he returns to the big boys.

Well, buddy, you can't understand the myriad of symptoms that I have from a T.B.I. and a subsequent accident. The second accident caused pain. Pot relieves symptoms from the first accident. And the pain from the second accident, can only be cured by Marijuana.

Interesting, and don't even try to play down my words by saying that I'm a stoner.

It cures, not eases, but cures (temporarily) all of my symptoms. I guess that's because my brain pumped out 26x the amount of anandamide, that a normal hippocampus does, after the trauma (as well as 2-glycerol something).

I went through the tests, experimented with Rx drugs (some on top of another), and nothing has worked. I'm going on five years of permanent left-extremity pain and it's been eleven years since my T.B.I.

It rids my double-vision with just a hit. It deadens my tinnitus.

After the first hit, it immediately starts working on the pain. I know, I can feel it. It, also, gives me feeling that I've lost (through the T.B.I.) in my right-side.

After several minutes, the pain is gone (temporarily). I complained of pain throughout my "intoxicated" state with the prescription pills.

Don't downplay my Doctors, either. The last one is the grandson of a well-known Doctor, from the 1950's, that you can find on the internet, still. Even though, he may have died before the conception of the web.

With the prescription drugs, all of the symptoms from the T.B.I. were not addressed. They can't prescribe me anything to cure my double-vision. Nor tinnitus. But, they should prescribe me Pot because it not only temporarily cures the pain, but, also, corrects symptoms from the T.B.I.

The Doctor has backed my decision, but, he can't do anything about it. I was sent to him after a neurologist told me, "There's nothing else I can do for you."

By the way, I know my case is extremely rare, so you can make an exception and just look the other way. Why not? Everybody else does.

He, actually, suggested that I do research on the web and find people (or, organizations) that are willing to risk their licenses to support the cause.

Social anxiety disorder is a lot more complicated than that and can be associated with panic attacks in certain situations. It is a legitimate mental illness like depression, but not as easy to diagnose.

Okay now that's just -dare I say it- really dumb. Social phobia is NOT the fear of talking to girls.

Okay, BTIC, listen up for a quick education; I'm doing you a favor by nipping your ignorance in the bud.

    From socialphobia.org:

" The socially anxious person ... can never fully relax when other people are around. It always feels like others are evaluating them, being critical of them, or "judging" them in some way. The person with social anxiety knows that people don't do this openly, of course, but they still feel the self-consciousness and judgment while they are in the other person's presence. It's sometimes impossible to let go, relax, and focus on anything else except the anxiety and fear. Because the anxiety is so very painful, it's much easier just to stay away from social situations and avoid other people altogether.

Social anxiety is the third largest psychological problem in the United States today. This type of anxiety affects 15 million Americans in any given year. Unlike some other psychological problems, social anxiety is not well understood ...In fact, people with social anxiety are misdiagnosed almost 90% of the time. People with social phobia come to our anxiety clinic labeled as "schizophrenic", "manic-depressive", "clinically depressed", "panic disordered", and "personality disordered", among other damaging misdiagnoses.

As with all problems, everyone with social anxiety has slightly different secondary symptoms. Some people, for example, cannot write in public because they fear people are watching and their hand will shake. Others are very introverted and they find it too difficult to hold down a job. Still others have severe anxiety about eating or drinking in the presence of other people. Some people with social anxiety feel that a certain part of their body (such as the face or neck) are particularly "strange looking" and vulnerable to being stared at. Others experience a muscle spasm (usually around the neck and shoulders) and it becomes the center of their focus ---"it's so embarrassing that if someone sees it I will be humiliated forever!"

One thing that all socially anxious people share is the knowledge that their thoughts and fears are basically irrational. That is, people with social anxiety know that others are really not critically judging or evaluating them all the time. They understand that people are not trying to embarrass or humiliate them. They realize that their thoughts and feelings are somewhat exaggerated and irrational. Yet, despite this rational knowledge, they still continue to feel differently."

Okay? Now go out there and enjoy your newfound knowledge.

    proper strain for social phobia

What some of you need to understand first is that there is a clear cut difference between shyness and social anxiety/phobia. Something people should really be aware of in such an uprising problem.

Social phobics are not necessarily shy to initially aproach social situations, but rather more fear and apprehension of the being evaluated by the people they approach. Which is one of the main reasons socially phobic individuals are so hesitant to seek help.. which makes it such a problem.

For me, cannabis is not as much of a social drug than, say, shrooms or dxm. It tends to lead to even more introspection

It does help with social aniexty though, probably far better than anything the pharms are pushing! I'll go against the flow here and suggest an Indica dominant strain. (because indica's more "body" high would in theory, make you less concerned with people because it is focusing on your physical/mental comfort. sativa seems better suited to creative processes, where your mind is dissecting abstract ideas)

Statistics don't mean shit, I duno where you copied and pasted that info from but is largely fabricated, no doubt. Not saying that alot of people don't suffer from social anxiety, but not everyone who feels nervous, feels shy, has trouble initiating a conversation has SOCIAL ANXIETY, alot of anxiety comes in stages and it can happen to anyone, self doubt leading to bigger problems e.t.c e.t.c. I suffer from anxiety and i've had a hard time with it but if you get to the route cause of what makes you anxious you can nullify the situations you find yourself in, somewhat. Are you to say that someone like me, or similar, has a disorder because they are unsure of themselves or inexperienced in certain areas of their lives? Its important not to label people, or put an idea in their head, that they have a mental disorder because they have symptoms similar to the one's you just described, (which is most of the population).

To the Poster : I don't have a problem with talking to people, girls yeah, its something I'm working on, but there's thing's you can do to alleviate your emotions, I don't suffer very much from anxiety now but I can relate to people who feel like that. I don't know about what strains help anxiety but I hope you find one and post your findings. If there's something that can help with your situation, get you moving, you can at least get more experience and maybe, gradually, try dealing with your problem without medication.
