well, i healed incrediblely fast. i ate a steak the next night. when i went to the doctor the other day and told him that he was quite impressed. i was able to smoke a few bowls yesterday and didn't get dry sockets or anything, and i was able to actually scrub the holes with my toothbrush this morning to get them nice and clean.

    heres the shitty part:

my face is still numb. like my lower lip on the right side, my lower right gums and teeth, and a patch on my chin. i've been researching it, and it sounds like when he pulled the lower right tooth, he had to cut into my jaw bone a little bit, and he hit a nerve.

the damage may not be permanent, but all the info i've found online says the feeling never gets back to completely normal.
shaving sucks, i can't feel how much pressure i'm putting on the razor against my face.
drinking is weird, i can't quite tell if the cup is up to my lips or not
smoking is weird for the same reason

fuck this shit its depressing to think that i have permanent nerve damage in my face. i'd get high but i'm broke as hell and start my new job on monday, so this weekend i'll just be hanging out doing nothing with a fucking numb face

    gahhh aldfjsdaklfjs;lad fuck
Hon, that happens to a lot of people when the wisdoms are removed. I know 3 days seems like a long time but you should gradually be getting the feeling back. Any surgical procedure is an assault to the body and healing takes time, also anesthetic works differently on people. If you're not back to normal in a couple of days call your dr. In the mean time, be careful of biting the inside of your cheek.

I had a numb tingle underneath my chin for about two weeks. My whole mouth was in a funk for awhile, but now im back to normal.

Wait a little bit more, say a week to see if it passes on it's own, but if it hasn't, get a second opinion from a dental surgeon. He might have a better understanding of what nerves run in that area or if something else could be causing the problem and more importantly, how to fix it.

Best of luck, I hope it's temporary.

I really hope everything turns out okay for you man.
Dont allow these antidentite bastards scare you. Get in there and let that poor humble dentist do her/his job:thumbsup:

After an exploratory camera was put into my heart 3 years ago the left side of my hand went numb just like you explained... The surgeon tried to blame it on the way I rest my elbow and that cause a pinch in the nerve...

Well 3 years later it is still numb, but I hardly recognize it now,the feeling is faint and unless I am thinking about it,I don't know it's there...

Fact is,after time you get used to it...

The roots of lower wisdom teeth may lie near the main nerve to the lower jaw, and the crowns may be near the nerve to the tongue. In about 1 to 2% of the cases, these nerves could be damaged during removal of the tooth. The result would be numbness in the lips, chin, and teeth on the side affected, or in the side of the tongue. Movement would not be affected--only sensation. If this happens, call the office immediately for a prescription of anti-inflammatory medication to ease the damage to the nerve. Expect some difficulty in using your mouth for several weeks, until it accommodates to the change. The nerve may take a month or several months to repair itself. It is not very common for this numbness, if present, to be permanent, but that is also possible.

Seriously, just get yourself back to the dentist with excruciating pain like that.

I had my wisdom teeth bulled back in 01, and I went back to college, and played ball the same nite, next day I was back to complete norm.

Go back to the doctor and get that shit taken care of.
