Man I can relate to that thc.. I went to high times in houston a couple weeks ago and it use to be a real cool place but I had not been there in like 6 years (I moved to another state).. when I went back this time (yea.. i moved back to the greatest state ever!) it was a totally different atmosphere. Much of the area that use to have "tobacco water pipes" is now whatever the PC term for a crack pipe is.. and the employees who use to be cool just treated me like crap.. and I was dressed far nicer than I use to dress when I went there, and I had a couple hundred bucks in cash in my pocket I wanted to spend.. I left the store and the only thing I bought was a copy of "high times" the magazine and I almost wish had not got that (you could tell it had been read a few times before I bought it)..

Yea, I think I will go ahead and take another 6 years off from that place.

Hey bssman,don't get me wrong aout gaspipes in general.the one on collins is cool and the one on maple is cool as hell.just some snapperheads just don't know how to treat people,like Aaron385 said about hightimes in H-town.ya know,when I get stoned an rock back and cypher it out like jethro I can only guess the people who are pissheads in the headshops are acting that way because THEYhave something to hide.and in that business theres only 1 thing they would need to hide.it's nice to know where to go and get decent gear these days.but with the high prices its really nice to know which stores to steer clear of.Enlighten & Expand,ThcBuz

I've been treated extremely well at the pipe on Collins in Arlington for almost 20 years. But the one on Skillman leaves a LOT to be desired. There is one black man who worked there, and may still, who has always been very nice and cordial and helpful. But there is a middle aged white guy, who may be the manager, who is a real jerk. I've been in there when he's so wasted he couldn't even open the cash register or count change. Once he just said "f*** it" and walked away when he owed me change. He went and had some kid come over to count out my change. I could have lied and said I gave him a big bill, because the older dude had no idea what was going on. Once I was checking out and two young guys came in and he just told them to get the f*** out because he was sick of punks. They were definitely of legal age, but I guess the way they dressed was offensive to him. The guys at the Collins store told me that they hear a lot of complaints about him.

Recently went into the Gaspipe on Maple. Always have had a good experience there.
I needed a rubber gromet for my bong and was politely told to say waterpipe. Always knew you couldn't use a phrase like "in order to smoke pot". Never knew saying bong was a no no.

Do you think the gas pipes are independently owned and operated or does the same company own them? Just a thought.

I asked once and was told that all the gas pipes are owned by the same guy. He even opened one in Albuquerque, NM. I remember going to the one in Arlington back over 20 years ago, and it was the original.
