Hopefully this will be a successful grow, and show people just how easy it is to grow a decent strain. Sure you can go for Lowryders and their '60 day from start to finish', but why do that when they actually take 90 days? And guess what... you can grow a 'proper' strain in 90-100 days from start til finish. So, lets start!
Rhino is currently 10 days old, and had a little bit of stretching due to being under a HPS as opposed to a MH bulb. Im just too cheap to buy a seperate ballast and bulb
When she goes into flowering, she WILL NOT be getting all these fancy nutes. Sure they work, but I wanna show people what yield you can get from keeping things simple.
A litre of tomato feed (5-5-10) will set you back £3.
A couple of plastic pots will cost around £2 tops (one small, one large) for both.
A bag of perlite can be found for under a fiver.
Water - straight from the tap, Brita filtered. Removes impurities
5 metres of mylar costs a tenner.
Decent soil - B&Q potting mix with John Innes compost with added vermiculite will nab £5 out of yer wallet.
250w Lamp, ballast, relay, timer and reflector can cost anywhere from £90 second hand to £200 brand new.
A pack of White Rhino seeds can be bought from www.everyonedoesit.com for a tenner.

Watching it all grow - priceless
But seriously, all this should set you back around £160. It might seem like a lot at first, but even when you work out the leccy costs at 8p per Kilowatt Hour (thats what it is for us anyway), its a little under £160 a year. It costs me £120 to buy an ounce - and with good care and attention, you should be yielding 2 ounces per plant under this setup. Now get a 1000w cooltube and some decent intake and exhaust... now yer talkin! :thumbsup:

10 days old and from seed. It only looks so big because its stretched a little, although I prefer them looking a little stretched. Makes them look bigger

Yep, The Business is a good film. :thumbsup: Might watch it again later, only seen it once. Ooh, Ive also just tried some White Rhino - apparently its making its way around Kettering, and I bought a half ounce last week (about to buy another half if I can get it tonight hehe). Wasnt sure if it was or not until I smelt the Rhino - shes already starting to give off a slight whiff, and it smells exactly like the bud I bought the other week. Was bloody strong stuff aswell, not as strong as I was expecting but still very nice. Had quite an uplifting effect on me aswell, I thought this was 80% indica? Oh well, I do like my sativas

Mand, is doing it simple the best way to grow or is it the lazy way? Hehe

Oh and LIP, I dunno if youve checked my updates on the Lowryder grow, but these DEFINATELY take longer than the 60 days on the packet. Been reading a few other LowGrows and everyone has said that they take between 80 and 100 days
Also, Im POSITIVE that Mary got pollinated, but I squished 3 calyxes on different parts of the plant and NONE have got seeds in. Looks like the free seed handout may not be going ahead... and I have no more seeds left now
Heres hoping for one of the 3 Lowryders to be a male again...

Jacobs, what light are you using? They will grow faster and yield more under a HPS, even more with using a MH and HPS combined, but with CFL's yield is reduced, although not by much. As with everything in life, you pay for what you get. I might do a CFL grow on a few Lowryders in the summer (and plant a few in garden aswell ) just to see if theres any difference in growing Lows outside, under CFL's or under a HPS.

Cheers, Ill probably need it. Something always goes wrong with my grows - usually, I get impatient and end up 'accidentally' snapping off small branches and smoking them
Ive heard conflicting reports on the THC content of Lowryder. Some go as low as 5%, whilst others go as high as 12%. I suppose it isnt a very stabilized strain as far as potency go...

Interesting, well, im 5 weeks and 1 day from seed and the pistilles are all over it, the first buds are here and the trichomes are also all over the little buds and all over the very smell leaves that come out of the main cola.

It's looking quite nice at the moment, cant wait to see what it looks likes in 2 weeks lol.
