floating sprouted seeds??
get a little sterile soil, put it in small pot with drainage holes, then take a pencil, poke hole up to where color starts, and drop seed in that hole pigtail (taproot) down. Use tweezers, if you got'em. Then. Lightly cover over top of sprout...spritz lightly every once in a while as soil start to dry out...don't drown it.
for future reference. I just omit the floating thing and stick them right into the soil. BAM spritz lightly and in a couple a 3 days..little seedling..small fan for excercise and coolness, find a good light distance...cfl's are great to start with to learn.
If you knew all that...I'm sorry, Never mind.

P.s. tidbit. I put starters under light right away...I do not subscribe to the darkness theory

18 on 6 off for 1-2 months or 12-18inches...whichever you prefer.
250w hps light distance from canopy... 1-1/2 to 2 feet to start. Once acclimated. You can lower them as low as your fan placement and attention to them on a daily basis will allow.
well you think on it. you should go read the growfaqs and some of the bigger threads, even old threads and find grows that are similar to what you will be limited to...that way you can prepare for problems before they show up in your grow. Make a plan.

floating sprouted seeds??
right on........well i guess starting in the morning the lights are going to start at the 18/6 at around 1 1/2 foot.
i've actually tore through most of this site reading i think.........my brain has actually started to hurt.............i've been doing this for the past couple weeks, i thought i was prepared but its one thing reading on how to do something and actually doing it the RIGHT WAY.....which is how i want to do it, because i'll sit there and nit pick to the last detail.....its the way i was taught to do things..........so any words of wisdom from seasoned vets are appreciated......i'm done rambling

floating sprouted seeds??
OK...since you wan to try 1-1/2 feet. you must set you plants where they are going to reside...make adjusment to the height of your 250w (keep light off until you have it secured where it will ride!!! very important). You do not want shards of....how does Zandor put it???shards of 10,000 degree glass in your face...lol, NO seriously!
Once you have lamp in place plug in-turn on, wait a few minutes until the lamp is all warmed up and glowing 100%
Now place your hand...as close to canopy(top of plant) as you can get it. If the back of your hand get's hot...You are too close! move lamp up 6"...It is better to have it a little farther away and stretch a teeny tiny bit...than it is too try and get light too CLOSE & MELT THEM!!! personally, I wouldn't put a 250w closer than 2-2-12 feet to start with after thinking it through, some more. Really...nitpick on that for the night...later

floating sprouted seeds??
well when i was testing my room to see the temps and everything i did the "hand test" and i was holding my hand up to 6" away and it wasn't too warm at all, but i guess i don't know what is too warm for a plant.........this was after about 6 or 7 hours of running...........also i put the sensor (i don't know what its called) for my thermometer about 8" directly under the bulb and at the absolute warmest that its got is 84 degree's...........what do you think??

I found tweezers awhile back and it is kinda 'mad scientist' to pik seed out of bunch with tweezers and placing seed perfectly on it's side and covering...hehhehhhehhhehh:smokin:
I just had 9 out of 9 sprout...in r'wool...1st time I placed seed directly in 1"x1" r'wool starters* and put them in dome...all 9 standing at attention this AM...Under 45w corkscrew CFL.
*r'wool starters had been soaking in Swampwater for a week, since doing cloning in r'wool
Watch for; I wish I knew how to use rockwool to start my seeds/clones..., thread, where I will share my learning experience.

well latewood i hope i have the same luck in the next couple of days with my 4 babies.........i used tweezers but i'm worried that i over/underwatered or didn't pack the soil to tight or did it too loose or just plain screwed everything up.........hopefully this is just the usual pothead paranoia
