    call me crazy but....

i have been considering going 'homeless' at some point in my life. a strange social experiment i suppose. i feel that to truely know something, you must experience it from both sides. so in order for me to truely understand the way that the socio-economic system works, i will have to abandon middle-classdom and experience the way the lower class works.
what inspired me was this squatter woman that I met in VIVAhouse, a homeless outreach center in baltimore. she said to me something like: 'I feel more free living in abandoned houses and gutters than I ever did in an appartment. I wake up every morning when by body decides to wake up, not when an alarm clock says to. I dont worry about what my neighbors think or about parking tickets or about how I dress or about buying those designer shoes or about instant messaging my friends. all i really worry about some spare change and a dry place to sleep. I think I'll die a squatter with no family to bury me but that's okay cause Ill die happy, not all worried. It is real tough but sometimes i think rich people have it worse." (p.s. i recorded this because I volunteered my time to helping homeless veterans last summer for two weeks. then i wrote a paper on it. i did it for scholarship money.)
I also am a fan of Jack Kerouak(sp). His book Tristeza and Dharma Bums and On the Road have also inspired me.
So I hope that by going homeless I will discover a little bit of freedom, I will know what it is like to sleep in a warm bed every night and what it is to not, and to gain knowledge of the socio-economic spectrum and hopefull figure some ways to improve upon it.
just thought that i would throw that out there. its a pretty insane idea of mine, but I would like to know what you guys think.

bizzle its one thing to wonder and another to do
i think that you should listen to your self and try it out
since you met that lady why dont you start by spending a few days with her
document your findings and repeat with different people
the material you gather should be good enought to write a book that sells
Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
