lateralus Reviewed by lateralus on 05-25-2006. call me crazy but.... i have been considering going 'homeless' at some point in my life. a strange social experiment i suppose. i feel that to truely know something, you must experience it from both sides. so in order for me to truely understand the way that the socio-economic system works, i will have to abandon middle-classdom and experience the way the lower class works. what inspired me was this squatter woman that I met in VIVAhouse, a homeless outreach center in baltimore. she said to me something like: 'I Rating: 5

I'm thinking about doing the beachbum thing when i get back to hawaii. My cousin did it for 2 months, but he always spent his money on weed and alcohol and partied everynight, bet i can save up some mad green if i conserve and still work.

beachguy, if homlessness were a foriegn country, do you think you could say 'i have been there. i know what it is like'' just by knowing people that have visited it? i think not. you gotta go there.:thumbsup:

Well, I've interacted with the homeless in N.Y.C. and Virginia Beach, from teenagers to full-grown adults. I didn't have to. But, I did learn a lot. From rebelling teenagers to jobless adults with no family. I didn't work with them at a home, but was, actually, with them at their "home".

I wasn't homeless, but I'm, always, alone. Friendless is about as bad as homeless. Well, maybe not. But, their both lonely.

Well, not all the time. Not with all the other bums under the bridge.

ive been homless before. when i was 15 i got kicked out by my stepdad cuz he didnt like me. i slept behind a church but when it rained it sucked bad. then i found a tree house and lived there for a month until my friends got a house. now we just smoke and drink all day, when were not working
