A buddy of mine and his girl had a similar dispute. She hates pot but she drinks sometimes. He won't give it up because he loves it and he doesn't like drinking. So when they're spending quality alone time together, he doesn't get high and she doesn't get drunk. It seems to work for them, they've been together for over a year.

She threatened to leave me if I didn't give up smoking weed.. now we made a "deal" that I would quit smoking if she would quit drinking.
